REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
PROFESSIONAL ARTIST SERIES 2009
Art City is inviting artists to submit proposals to conduct workshops at its community art studio located in Winnipeg’s West Broadway neighbourhood. The proposals will be considered for the Art City Professional Artist Series in 2009.
Founded by Winnipeg artist Wanda Koop, Art City is a drop-in studio that provides high quality, free-of-charge art programming to inner-city residents. The standard format for workshops by professional artists is based on a 5-day period, Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Workshop proposals should be geared towards children and youth ranging from 6 to 15 years of age, though still be of interest to older teens and adults. Artists will receive $1,400.00 for the one-week workshop.
All submissions must include the following:
1) Applicant’s name, address, and phone number. Provide fax number,
e-mail, and web site address if applicable.
2) Title and description of the workshop.
3) A 5-day workshop timeline describing in detail what will be addressed in each daily 4-hour session.
4) A supply list.
5) A brief biography summarizing professional achievements (1 paragraph).
6) Curriculum vitae including any previous teaching experience (3 pages max.).
7) Documentation of artwork in slide or digital form and corresponding list of works that details the title, date, medium, and dimensions of each piece. Magazine, newspaper articles, and reviews of work are also welcome.
Submission Deadline: Monday, June 2, 2008 (postmarked, delivered, or e-mailed)

Selected artists will be asked to provide a Criminal Reference Check and Child Abuse Registry Check that will be paid for by Art City.
