Parade and Picnic
In July, Art City prepares for our annual community art parade. On the day of the parade, over 500 people fill the streets with colourful costumes, banners, and floats in celebration of art. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. A free community picnic with live entertainment follows the parade.

Halloween Event
Every year Art City staff and participants create a spooky Halloween event. The event is held the night before Halloween to ensure a safe, fun, and free event for the community. Past events have included haunted houses, film projects, and fashion shows.

Mural Projects
Each summer Art City invites community groups and individual residents to help beautify the neighbourhood through the painting of murals.
Spirit Park Mosaic Sculpture
In the summer of 2005, Art City hosted Vancouver artist Bruce Walther to facilitate a workshop in tile mosaic. Walther worked with Art City participants to design and install a tile mosaic sculpture on-site in West Broadway’s Spirit Park.
West Broadway Skateboard Park
In June 2001, Art City collaborated with Broadway Neighbourhood Centre and landscape architecture student Chris Veres in the creation of a skateboard park. Youth participated in the planning, design, and construction of the skateboard park.
Misericordia Place
In July and August 2000, Art City partnered with guest artist Katharina Stieffenhofer and Misericordia Place for the creation and installation of 120 coloured concrete tiles with embossed images. The tiles are located in the park of Misericordia Place.
